Value-added services: internal shuttle service and stationery replenishment service

A well-known airline needed to outsource several services: the management of supplies and the internal postal service at Rome-Fiumicino International Airport; the on-board delivery of flight plans at Milan Linate airport and Milan Malpensa Airport.

FIUMICINO

  • Supply management involved all the stationery delivered to all the offices within the airport:

We received the orders that the airline issued to external suppliers. We carried out the loading of materials, the control on entry and storage in the warehouse, followed by the organisation of delivery flows for the entire airport.

  • Postal services

Poste Italiane delivered all letters, registered mail, envelopes and parcels to the logistics office where we checked the lists and organised the distribution.

LINATE AND MPX

Internal courier service to deliver flight plans for domestic routes.

The airline was looking for a flexible partner who could find different formulas to organise an alternative service to what the customer themselves were no longer able to provide directly in an efficient and economical manner.
The logistics partner was asked to make a significant contribution to the coordination the flows in different departments and respect the timetable, in addition to providing an adequate number of dynamic people available to deliver the activity (organisation of shift work and coverage of absences).

Ten people were required for each shift to cover all the activities provided for in the agreement.
